My high school didn't do much with computers. We had a keyboarding course and two computer applications classes. The computer applications classes both dealt with Power Point and were really just easy A's.
Being an advertising major, my main goal with computers is selling. My first selling experience associated with computers was when I worked as a door to door salesman selling educational products. A common objection we would get was "Oh, I'll just use the internet for that." Since there was usually no way around that objection, the new goal became just to have fun. My sales territory was usually somewhere up north where they would assume I had a certain level of ignorance. I would throw on my thickest southern accent and say, "What's a internet? Is that like a fishing net? I like fishing! Does inners taste good? If said with the proper conviction, they would believe I was a backwoods hillbilly that had never heard of the internet. It was great.
